City Welcomes Baroness June Sarpong
Mayor Dr. Michael Branco and City CEO Dwayne Caines welcomed Baroness June Sarpong to City Hall for a courtesy visit.
A spokesperson said, “The meeting offered a warm opportunity to exchange perspectives, share experiences and discuss possibilities for collaboration and mutual learning.
“As a member of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords, Baroness Sarpong contributes to the scrutiny of proposed legislation, debates on public policy and holding the Government to account. She brings to that environment extensive experience in broadcasting and advocacy for equality, inclusion and greater access to opportunity. A British broadcaster and author of Ghanaian heritage, she previously served as the BBC’s first Director of Creative Diversity.
“The City thanks Baroness Sarpong for her visit and looks forward to continuing the dialogue.”
