Upgrades Made To Shorelink Ferry & Bus App
The Shorelink App has been upgraded with new features including all vehicles/vessels being displayed on the live map, all bus stops and ferry stops across the island being incorporated, and a cancellation and delay notification feature.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport is pleased to announce improvements to the Shorelink App. Since the introduction of real-time tracking for buses and ferries, the system has been closely monitored. Feedback has been gathered from both operational teams and the travelling public. These enhancements are a direct response to that feedback and are aimed at improving clarity, reliability, and overall ease of use.
“The following improvements and new features have been introduced to enhance how passengers view and understand their journeys:
- “Directional indicators have now been introduced for both buses and ferries. Each vehicle or vessel is displayed on the live map with a clear arrow, allowing passengers to readily see the direction of travel in real time.
- “All bus stops and ferry stops across the island have now been incorporated into the App. Passengers can now select any stop in the application to view the scheduled services for that location. Once selected, the map displays all upcoming bus or ferry services associated with that stop.
- “A cancellation and delay notification feature has been introduced. This ensures that both internal teams and the public receive timely updates when service disruptions occur. These notifications identify affected routes and stops, communicate the expected duration of the disruption, and, where available, provide the reason for delays or cancellations. This improves transparency and helps passengers make informed travel decisions.
“These targeted improvements to the Shorelink App reflect ongoing progress toward a modern, reliable, and passenger-focused public transportation system for Bermuda.
“Download the Shorelink app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.”
