Butterfield to Compete in Japan, China, US, UK
Top local triathlete Tyler Butterfield has announced his competitive schedule for 2011. His 2011 season will get underway in March when he heads off to Australia for the Mooloolaba a World Cup Event, he then heads to Japan, USA, UK, Canada, China, Mexico and Colombia for additional competions through the year. Mr Butterfield‘s 2011 season will also have a difference to seasons past – he will be a father – as his wife Nikki is expecting their first child later this month.
Mr Butterfield had a very successful 2010 with nine top 10 finishes that included a 2nd place finish at the Lavaman Triathlon (Waikolo, Hawaii), 8th at the Monterrey ITU Triathlon World Cup (Monterrey, Mexico), 5th at the Ironman 70.3 Lonestar (Galveston Island, Texas), 3rd competing in the Ironman 70.3 St Croix (St. Croix, US Virgin Islands).
He won the Tokio Sprint Triathlon in Bermuda and was 2nd in the May 24th Half Marathon in Bermuda, finished 5th at the Ironman 70.3 Mooseman (Newfound Lake, New Hampshire), 2rd as the Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon (Philadelphia) and 3rd in the Caribbean & Central American Championships (Puerto Rico).

- November 6: Guatapé World Cup, Colombia
