Football: FA Cup Round Up
[Updated with photos] This afternoon [Dec 19] the second round of the FA Cup was played, with First Division Prospect United defeating Premier Division Boulevard Blazers 3-1 the big upset of the day.
Prospect United 3 Boulevard Blazers 1
- At the BAA Field, Shaki Swan gave Prospect United the lead in the 5th minute, and then scored again ten minutes later. Deforest Evans made it 3 – 0 to Prospect in the 39th minute, before Rieko Trott pulled a goal back for Boulevard when he converted from the penalty spot. Both teams teams went down to ten men by the end, with Prospect having played most the game one man short.
Wolves 1 MR Onion’s 1
- Playing at the Devonshire Rec, Nathan Webb gave Wolves the lead in the 74th minute, but Drewonde Bascome equalized for Robin Hood when he converted from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute.
Hamilton Parish 0 St. George’s Colts 1
- After a scoreless first half at the Wellington Oval, Jahron Dickinson scored a penalty early in the second half after Allan Douglas was brought down in the box to give the St. George’s Colts to 1 – 0 win over Hamilton Parish.
North Village Rams 1 Dandy Town Hornets 1
- After a scoreless first half at the Bernard Park, Jason Lee gave the North Village Rams the lead in the 53rd minute, but Saki Tuzo equalized for the Dandy Town Hornets as the two teams will have to do battle in a replay.
PHC Zebras 4 Devonshire Colts 1
- Devonshire Colts took the lead in the 12th minute when Lezendro Symonds, PHC equalized after a Devonshire Colts defender scored an own goal following a Blenn Bean free kick. Aquino Grant then gave PHC the lead in the 39th minute. Khamisi Lightbourne made it 3 – 1 with a goal in the 80th minute and then Quinton Burgess closed out the scoring for PHC to win 4 – 1.
St. David’s 4 Ireland Rangers 0
- At Lord’s in St. David’s, Angelo Cannonier gave St. David’s the 1 – 0 lead over Ireland Rangers. Dejuan Paynter doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, three minutes later George O’Brien scored to make it 3 – 0 and then Cannonier added his second goal of the game to earn St. David’s a spot in the next round draw with a 4 – 0 win.
Devonshire Cougars 2 X’Road’s 1
- At the Devonshire Rec. Tumani Steede gave the Devonshire Cougars the lead in the 10th minute, Keiran Bennett equalized for X’Road’s in the 57th minute, but Jesse Seymour scored the Devonshire Cougars winner in the 65th minute.
MR Onion’s 1 Southampton Rangers 6
- The Southampton Rangers got a hat-trick from Ezekiel Stoneham, two goals from Dennis Russell and a single strike from Travis Wilkinson as they defeated the MR Onion’s 6 – 1 at the BAA Field. Michael Luber scored the lone goal for MR Onion’s.
