Golf: Roberts to Attend Queens University

December 19, 2010

ryan roberts17 yr old Bermudian golfer, Ryan Roberts, will be playing his college golf at Queens University of Charlotte in the Fall of 2010. Ryan, the 2008 Bermuda National Junior Champion and 2010 recipient of the National Junior Athletic Sports Award, was lucky enough to have a choice of colleges.

“I was very fortunate to have college coaches recruiting me. I turned down an offer of early signing with one college as I was not sure it was the right place for me. In the end I went with the one that offered the best academically. Queens is the only university that offers PGM (Professional Golf Management) as a minor allowing me to major in business.”

Ryan has had a very successful junior career so far, having won all of the BJGA major tournaments multiple times. He has represented Bermuda every year in overseas tournaments since he was 8 years old.

Ryan, a former Saltus student, now attends the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, SC where he is getting daily golf instruction and the experience of playing in higher level junior tournaments, a perfect transition to college golf.
