Video/Results: Round the Island Seagull Race
The 2011 Round the Island Seagull Race was held yesterday [June 18], and had 59 boats registered for the event. The day saw a new record set for a sports engine of 2 hours 7 mins by ‘Game Over’ captained by JJ Soares. The fastest elapsed time with reg seagull engine [ie not sports] was 3 hours 5 mins by Andrew Percy in ‘Longadanyurs.’
The first boat across the line with a propspring was James Anfossi’s ‘Twisted Seas,’ while the first wooden dinghy was ‘Friendship’- Keith Bridges. The first all female crew was ‘Double Trouble’ – Jennifer Doe. The fastest time with an old engine was 4 hours 29 mins by ‘Naughty Bits’ – Jason Semos, and the first non wood dinghy was ‘Quantum’ – James Gibbons.
