Photos: 2011 Miss Teen Bermuda Islands
Last night [Aug.7] hundreds of friends and family members packed the audience for the 2011 Miss Teen Bermuda Islands contest, which saw Miss Devonshire Shaunte Simons win the crown. The 17-year-old Saltus Grammar School graduate and aspiring lawyer said she was excited to win, and looks forward to being a role model to young girls.
The first runner up was Miss St George’s West Kayla Furbert, Miss Smiths Siairah Minors placed third, Miss St. George’s East Tabia Butterfield placed fourth and Miss Pembroke Allana Bean placed fifth. Miss Hamilton Parish Denisha Roberts, Miss Warwick Melaé Bowen-Daniels, Miss Warwick Zainab Suluki and Miss Southampton Zaakira Lee also competed in the contest.
Premier Paula Cox lauded all the contestants for their “style and substance”, and was onstage to crown the new Miss Teen Bermuda.
