Sean Trott and Deon Breary race away with the Male and Female 2011 Labour Day 5 Mile Road Race titles this morning [Sept.5]
Trott – who went out from the start with Chase Smith and Otis Robinson – put on a spurt at the two mile mark and ran alone from there. Mr Trott crossed the line clocking a time of 26:48, while Ms Breary crossed the line in a time of 33:45.
Teenager Juma Mouchette was the second runner across the line in a time of 30:48, while William Wood finished third clocking a time of 32:09.
Christina Dotson was the second female finisher when she crossed the line in a time of 36:12, she finished 13th overall while Carla Colbourne who finished 16th overall was the third female finisher clocking 38:10.
Sinclair Smith took the 2011 Labour Day 5 Mile Walking Race Title. Smith crossed the line in a time of 58.42, while Shenna Young finished second in 1:00:04 and Gary Young rounded out the top three finishers with a time of 1:02:18.
Jahmari Sutton survived a late challenge from Jermiah Steede to win the Junior 1.5 Mile Race. Sutton was suffering from what appeared to be cramps, crossed the line in a time of 8:47, while Steede who was late to the start line and left some 30 to 40 seconds behind the Junior Field finished second clocking 9:01 along with Sajan Harvey.
