Upcoming: Wear Red & White Fundraiser

April 13, 2012

Schools and businesses are being encouraged to participate in an upcoming fundraiser by the Red Cross. Those participating would allow students and staff to wear red and white on Friday, May 4 for a minimum donation of $2.

A spokesperson said, “May is Red Cross month. The 8th May is the anniversary of the birth of Henri Dunant, founder of the Red Cross Movement. We ask schools and businesses to participate by allowing students and staff to wear red and white for a minimum donation of $2.

“We added a twist to this by encouraging members of the community to do something in their home, school, office, and community to promote safety, health & preparedness. We provide stickers for each person who participates.

“All funds received from Red Cross month are allocated for local programs and are completely separate from fundraising for international disaster appeals.”

If you would like to join in the event, a participation form can be downloaded here.
