Nigel Pollard To Captain The BZS Endurance.

February 27, 2013

188Nigel Pollard will serve as the new captain of the Bermuda Zoological Society education vessel “Endurance. ”

Mr Pollard brings with him many years of experience as a charter boat captain and he’s very excited to welcome locals and visitors alike on excursions aboard Endurance.

“Nigel makes a great addition to the BAMZ/BZS team and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge about Bermuda’s marine animals and natural history. We are certain our members will enjoy their time spent aboard Endurance with our new captain,” said Dr. Ian Walker, principal curator of the Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo.

Mr Pollard said, “Growing up on the south shore of Bermuda meant that I spent most of my life in or on the water and I am excited about having the opportunity to share my experiences with everyone who boards Endurance.

“Endurance has been and will continue to be the perfect platform to assist in educating everyone, especially school children about the natural wonders that surround us.”

Mr Pollard replaces the former Captain of the Endurance Tim Hasselbring, who tragically died at only 38-years-old following a battle with cancer.
