PHC Zebras Defeat Dandy Town In PDL Finals
PHC Zebras are the 2013/14 Premier Development League Festival Cup Champions after defeating the Dandy Town Hornets 4 – 1 today [Jan 1] at the National Sports Centre.
The PHC Zebras had defeated BAA in the semi finals to claim a spot in the finals, while Dandy Town defeated X’Roads in the other semi finals, with the game going down to a penalty shootout.
The PHC Zebras got on the scoreboard after only 4 minutes when Marco Warren found the back of the net beating the Dandy Town goalkeeper Mikkail Crockwell. Khamisi Lightbourne doubled the lead in the 35th minute as the PHC Zebras looked to take control of the match.
Tre Manders pulled a goal back for Dandy Town in the 43rd minute, but the two goal advantage was restored one minute later when Warren scored his second goal of the game.
Only one goal was scored in a the second half as Ryan Hassell beat an advancing substitute goalkeeper Tomiko Wilson to score to make the final score 4 – 1 to the PHC Zebras.
