Women’s Futsal League Weekend Results
The Women’s Futsal League season continued inside the Warwick Academy Gymnasium this weekend with a triple header that saw a total of 37 goals.
Somerset Hurricanes 7 Dandy Stars 6
The match of the evening saw the Somerset Hurricanes jump out to an early lead and at half-time they led 5 – 2. Dandy Stars re-grouped and outscored the Somerset Hurricanes 4 – 2 in the second-half, but it was not enough. Shauntae Todd was in exceptional form for the Somerset Hurricanes scoring 6 goals, while Z’Ajae Lee was outstanding in goal for Dandy Stars. Deshae Darrell scored the other goal for the Somerset Huricanes, while Cleshaunae Darrell-Virgil, Shonte Campbell and Kyla Ramatar all scored two goals each for Dandy Stars.
Footy Force Stars 11 Hamilton Parish 1
Commentary: Footy Force started very slow and at half-time only led by 3 – 1. Hamilton Parish put up a good fight, but in the second half, Footy Force found their scoring touch with 8 goals. Player of the game for Footy Force was Dannelle Foote who scored a hat-trick along with Cheyra Bell. Zara Gibbons, Jahziyah Samuels, LeiLanni Nesbeth, Jada Samuels and Leah Smith all added a goal each, Asreal Basden had the lone strike for Hamilton Parish.
PHC 10 Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds 2
The PHC Lady Zebras raced out to an early lead and was up 6 – 0 at half-time. Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds did much better in the second-half scoring 2 goals, but could not stop PHC from scoring 4 more. Micah Pond was outstanding for PHC with Satyrah Robinson most valuable player for Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds.
Jessica Furtado led the PHC Lady Zebras to victory with a hat-trick, Aaliyah Nolan, Symira Lowe-Darrell and Pond all scored twice and Taznae Fubler scored once. Sequay Darrell and Kelechi Jones scored a goal each for the Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds.
