Public Reminded To Check Passport Expiration

Bermuda’s Ministry of Home Affairs is reminding the public to take the time to check the expiration date of their passports in order to avoid “emergency requests” leading into the summer season.

A spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Home Affairs wishes to remind the public to please check the expiration date of your passports. As summer approaches, the incidence of ‘emergency requests’ associated with leisure travel increases.

“Passports can be expedited for medical emergencies, but otherwise the regular processing time of eight working days shall apply.”

    And it will get worse once we have to send our passports abroad to get renewed. The British Passport issuing system is so back logged that a request sent in February is just getting into the system in April and not getting processed till June. Pay attention people!
