Gladwin “Chiefy” Ingham Wins Sportsman Award

July 13, 2014

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced the winner of the weekly Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award for week seven as Gladwin “Chiefy” Ingham of Bermuda Cricket Umpire’s Association.

The BCB said, “At the game between PHC and Warwick Workmen’s Club on Sunday 6th July one of the scheduled umpires was not able to participate. Chiefy agreed to shoulder the burden of main umpire for the match by standing at each end i.e. officiating for 100 overs.

“Due to the number of wides bowled in this game this was for an extended period. Chiefy’s contribution and willingness to ensure that the game was played, particularly for 2 teams with many young players, showed fine community spirit and a great example of sportsmanship.”
