Video: BF&M CEO’s Ice Bucket Challenge
Following up on a group of the company’s employees taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, BF&M CEO John Wight has doused himself with ice cold water in the name of promoting awareness of the debilitating disorder, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Before undertaking the challenge, Mr. Wight nominated Darren Johnston of PWC, Will Cox of the Waterfront Group, and Ingrid Innes of the Insurance Corporation of Barbados for the challenge.

Mr. Wight also announced that BF&M will be matching the money raised by staff, with all funds to be donated to ALS research. In addition to the Ice Bucket Challenge, the company will hold a Denim Day fundraiser.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has featured people from around the world dumping ice water over their heads in an effort to promote awareness of and raise money for the research of ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
In Bermuda, the challenge has also been accepted by Governor George Fergusson, with a commitment to participate from the island’s Roman Catholic Priests.
