Digicel Bermuda Offering College Scholarships
Digicel Bermuda has announced the launch of the Digicel Scholarship which will provide funding for four Bermudian students pursuing a university education overseas or locally, who aspire to work within the Telecommunications Industry.
The company said, “Digicel will award four scholarships totaling $15,000, with $5,000 being distributed each year for three consecutive years to the successful candidates to use towards their higher education tuition fees to pursue Technology or Business related degrees.
“Digicel will provide continuous development for the recipients by offering internship programmes during breaks throughout the academic year and potential employment opportunities once they have completed their studies.
“In preparation for entrance into the workplace in Bermuda the scholarship is open to Bermudian students qualified to proceed with, or who are currently enrolled in an accredited university. The successful candidate should embody the qualities of innovation, forward thinking and being uncomfortable with being comfortable.
“In order to apply, candidates will be required to complete an essay and short multimedia presentation. Candidates will be assessed on not only academic performance and extracurricular pursuits, but also how best they demonstrate the personal qualities that Digicel are looking for.”
