Exchange Of Information Between UK & Bermuda

The official UK Government website posted a number of documents today [April 21], detailing information sharing agreements between the UK Government and various territories, including Bermuda.

In posting the document, the website said, “This exchange of notes and technical protocol for sharing beneficial ownership information came into force on 9 April 2016.

“The arrangement requires maintaining a central register containing accurate and current information on beneficial ownership for corporate and legal entities incorporated in their jurisdictions.

“It also requires each jurisdiction to ensure effective and unrestricted access to this information to the other jurisdiction’s law enforcement and tax authorities.”

As of this writing, the UK Government website has also posted documents pertaining to agreements with Gibraltar, Turks & Caicos, Anguilla, Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey.
