Wed/Thurs: Traffic Disruptions Expected In Paget
“The Ministry of Public Works provided an update on repairs on South Road in Paget, saying that the concrete for the new sidewalk was previously expected to be poured on Monday 30th May but it has now been rescheduled for Wednesday and Thursday morning, with a lane closure with temporary traffic light control will be required on Wednesday and Thursday.
said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to advise the public of an update with regards to repairs being made to a section of badly broken concrete sidewalk on South Road, Paget, between the bend at the Southcote Road junction and Tribe Road #4b [the public access route to Elbow Beach].
“The concrete for the new sidewalk was previously expected to be poured on Monday 30th May but it has now been rescheduled for Wednesday morning and Thursday morning this coming week.
“Consequently, a lane closure with temporary traffic light control will be required on Wednesday and Thursday whilst the concrete hardens enough to open to pedestrian traffic. A temporary pedestrian walkway will be provided in the carriageway for pedestrian safety.
“Crews will aim to ensure that the road is clear for the morning commuting period on both days. Whilst the Ministry will try and mitigate traffic impact, traffic disruption is inevitable and motorists are encouraged to allow more time for their journeys and use alternative routes where practicable.
“The Ministry apologizes for any inconvenience caused to the public during these essential repair works.”
We borrow everything else from the “foreign experts…why can’t they use common sense and do it night time just as they do a major portion of road repair.
Firstly
If you indicate a day
Then do it that day.
Now you have prolonged angst…and…now we can’t be sure you will do it on Wednesday an Thursday…
Also….something like that …if it takes your crew two days….it should be outsourced.Look…put three to one dry mix …batten it off to thickness of red brick and lay it in …quicker and pretty.
Better yet…do it Saturday when people don’t absolutely need traverse!
u think!?
