RUBiS Energy Launches “Fuelling 4 A Cause”
RUBiS Energy Bermuda Ltd has launched its first ever “Fuelling 4 a Cause” competition and promotion as part of the company’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Graham Redford, Managing Director of RUBiS, said, “September 30th marks RUBiS’ 10th Anniversary of operations in Bermuda. To help celebrate this milestone, we decided to expand our normal charitable giving by developing a competition that will benefit 24 local not-for profits and charities and promote the services that each provides.
“The competition started in July of this year where we reached out to our employees, dealers and dealer’s staff and asked each of them to nominate their 5 favourite not-for-profits and charities. The results were collated and the top 24 were invited to take part in Fuelling 4 a Cause.
“All 24 nominations were then given the opportunity to submit a photo illustrating how RUBiS helps to get them going.”
“All 24 submissions were reviewed by a judging panel and twelve charities were selected to be featured as one of the twelve monthly images for the extremely popular RUBiS 2017 calendar. Additionally, each of these 12 will also participate in the ‘Fuelling 4 a Cause” promotion.”
Jermaine Simons, Sales Manager of RUBiS, said, “From tomorrow, September 28th through to Wednesday November 9th 2016, RUBiS will donate 5c per US Gallon of fuel sold at its network of service stations to the 12 charities chosen.
“The promotion mechanics are simple – whenever a customer purchases fuel and goes inside to pay, the RUBiS Rewards printer will automatically issue a document, to both Reward Members and non-members, that contains an unique code that will enable the customer to vote for one of the twelve charities.
“Customers will be directed by the document to visit the RUBiS website and use the unique code on the document to validate and cast their vote. It’s that easy and can be summed up in three simple steps.
“Fuel up; visit the website; and vote for one of the twelve listed charities
“At the end of the promotion, RUBiS will guarantee that every charity will receive at least a $1,000.00 donation. We will then count all of the votes for each charity and the balance of the remaining donation will be proportioned to each charity based on how many votes they receive from RUBiS fuel customers.”
A spokesperson said, “The twelve charities include Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo, Bermuda Diabetes Association, Bermuda Olympic Association, Bermuda Red Cross, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Coalition for the Protection of Children, Duke of Edinburgh, SCARS, Spirit of Bermuda, St. John’s Ambulance, Warwick Academy Foundation, and Windreach.
“This year, additional calendars will be printed to account for the surplus in demand from the extraordinary support RUBiS hopes to receive from the Bermuda community.
“The remaining twelve charities that competed in the photo competition but did not win one of the coveted monthly features will be allowed to hold a special Tag Day during 2017 at one or more of our RUBiS Service Stations.”
Mr. Redford , said “Each of these worthy charities provides Bermuda with exemplary services, from preserving the environment, grooming our aspiring athletes, teaching our children and providing educational growth to helping provide support for some of the health ailments we may encounter.
“We are grateful for the support we have received over the past ten years, and we are happy to have been able to provide safe quality fuel solutions and service to the Bermudian public. RUBiS is known for its innovative fuel solutions and we hope that the public gets as excited about this innovative promotion as the charities that have been chosen are.
“We are committed to Bermuda and we are proud to be able to help. ”
