Bermuda’s Volunteers Thanked For Their Service
With International Volunteer Day being marked on December 5th, the Centre on Philanthropy said they would like to recognize and thank Bermuda’s volunteers for their exceptional service to our community.
According to Eventbright, “International Volunteer Day [IVD] – 5 December is an international observance designated by the United Nations since 1985. It offers an opportunity for volunteers and volunteer organisations to make visible their contributions – at local, national and international levels.”

“International Volunteer Day is an opportunity to celebrate Bermuda’s rich volunteer heritage by giving special recognition to the countless volunteers of all ages, from all walks of life who demonstrate the great character of our island through acts of kindness, generosity and compassion,” the Centre said.
Jenice Germain, Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator at The Centre on Philanthropy says, “Volunteers are valuable partners in our community who give freely and tirelessly to causes that are important to them.
“Their service helps to ignite change and continues to be a driving force for social change. Bermuda is enriched by the wealth of the giving and caring demonstrated by so many volunteers. Today, we celebrate all volunteers for their many contributions to our island.”
