‘Just For Laughs’ Comedy Show In January
The annual Just For Laughs comedy event is getting set to return to Bermuda for its 12th edition on Wednesday, January 10 at Earl Cameron Theatre, City Hall, and from January 11 to 13, at Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre, Fairmont Southampton Hotel.
A spokesperson said, “Just For Laughs Bermuda returns in January 2018 with a stellar line-up of talent! The 12th edition of Bermuda’s annual funny event is hosted by perennial favourite, and honorary islander, Alonzo Bodden and features special guest the UK’s Mark Watson, along with “the smartest man in the world” Greg Proops and Canadian Comedy Award winner Deanne Smith. Tickets are on-sale now!
About Alonzo Bodden
“A Just For Laughs Festival favourite, Alonzo had the distinction of the most performances at this past July’s Festival where he was also the first performer on the first show of the Festival and the last performer on the closing show of the Festival. In addition, Alonzo hosted, to great acclaim, the JFL Comedy Pro Award Show which honours leading talent in the comedy industry. This year’s honourees and guest speakers included Trevor Noah, Jim Carley, Ali Wong, Judd Apatow , Kenya Barris and Craig Ferguson, to name a few.
“Alonzo, who won Season 3 on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, is a regular on NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! and Comedy Congress, as well as being a panelist on the Game Show Network’s Mind of a Man. Alonzo recently filmed his second stand-up comedy special tentatively titled Historically Incorrect, and filmed a guest role on the upcoming ABC comedy Dr. Ken starring Ken Jeong.
