CURB: Truth & Reconciliation Conversations
CURB announced that, with their 2018 Winter Truth & Reconciliation Community Conversations coming to a close next week, the Spring Community Conversations will begin in two weeks.
“The Winter group was the largest to date, with a diverse group of 25 people meeting at the Human Rights Commission, the sessions proved to be challenging and thought-provoking for all involved,” a spokesperson said.
“There will be two groups meeting in the evenings this Spring, one on Tuesdays beginning the 27th March at the Human Rights Commission and the other on Wednesdays beginning the 28thMarch at Bermuda College.
“Each group will meet for 7 consecutive weeks, this helps build relationships, grow trust and allow people to share authentically. Working together as a community participants go through a process of learning, sharing and exploring different concepts around race, history and the legacy of trauma.
“Most importantly we ask our participants to carry this work into their own sphere of influence, whilst also gaining their input with regard to actions that can be taken at individual, group, community and at a societal level, to bring about a paradigm shift in our society and a process towards healing the harm caused.
“For anyone interested in joining the Spring Community Conversations, please email admin@uprootingracism.org or call 505 0112 to register or for more information.”
