Photo Set #1: World Triathlon Elite Race Women
Bermuda World Triathlon races were held on Saturday [April 28] starting at 7.00am with the Amateur Age Group races, followed by the elite races in the afternoon.
With an incredible performance in front of her home crowd, Flora Duffy won the elite women’s event in just over two hours. Following was a photo-finish with Vicky Holland coming in second place and Katie Zaferes taking third.
With the victory on home soil, Flora moves up to seventh in the standings as she defends her back-to-back world championships.

Following the race Flora said, “I don’t think this moment is going to sink in for a while, but what I will say when it does is that this will probably be one of the highlights of my career. I mean this is incredible, the streets were lined, and it was just a phenomenal atmosphere, it was incredible.”
There were over 50 elite men and over 30 elite women being represented from nations including the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Mexico, Israel, Barbados, Australia, Czech Republic, Spain, Slovakia, Austria, China, Japan, Germany, UAE, Cayman, Denmark, Portugal, Costa Rica, Korea, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and of course, Bermuda.
