Bermuda Softball Season Week #4 Results

May 13, 2018

It was a rough week for the A Division softball teams as two lower division sides pulled off upset victories over them.

On Wednesday, Chubb Kings got revenge for last year’s season-ending loss to Blue Wahoos. Chubb prevailed over their A Division foes 18-11. Then Team Smokey burned to the ground any hope of a win for Paraquet Flyers 20-13.

The night’s third A-B contest saw Docksiders salvage some pride for the A teams with a 25 to 10 mercy win over Platano Power. The victory kept Dockies undefeated at 4-0.

B side Hakuna Matata Charter has been acting like an A team with a thorough thrashing of the Corporation of Hamilton, 42-3. Hakuna also thrashed the Sunglass & Watch Shop 23-6 earlier in the week.

Hakuna leads Chubb atop of the B Division standings and has outscored its opponents by 69 runs in five games. It is averaging 27 runs a game. The next highest runs per game is Docksiders with 18. X-Bats ran its record to 2-1 with a 20-5 pounding of Team Smokey. The loss levels Team Smokey’s record to 2-2. FIU-Scared Hitless defeated the Beach Bums 18-11. FIU is now 2-2 while Beach Bums are 2-1.

Super Express remain unbeaten in the C Division with a low-scoring 9-2 triumph over the Buffaloes. Express is now 4-0 while the Buffaloes are 1-2. Shooters picked up its first win of the year against Deloitte with a 20-4 mercy victory. The loss leaves Deloitte still searching for a ‘W’ on the season. Shooters then turned around a dropped a 16-5 contest to Raggamuffins.

In the Corporate Division, Sea Venture Mini Mes ran its record to 4-0 with a convincing 20-4 triumph over PWC. KPMG evened its record to 2-2 as it slipped past Butterfield & Vallis Sliders 10-7. The Sliders are now 1-3 in the division.

There were no games scheduled for the Women’s Division this week, but they will be in action on Monday at Michael Preece Stadium at 7:30 pm and 9 pm.
