Bowlers Qualify For Pan American Games

Team Bermuda qualified for one of the final two spots for this summer’s Pan American Games, with the top two scores used from each country to determine who would advance, so on the back of some great bowling from Damien Matthews and David Maycock, Bermuda National Men’s Bowling team accomplished their goal of qualifying.

Matthews was consistent throughout the week long event with some spectacular bowling as he posted an overall average of 212.6, and Maycock recorded an overall average of 206.5.

The pair lead the qualifying rounds from the very first day, and never looked back to secure Bermuda’s berth for this summer’s games. Matthews finished with a total of 5,103 pins and Maycock finished with 4,957 pins. In the Singles, Matthews had 1,274 pins, while Maycock had 1,197 pins.

When they played in the Doubles, Matthews had 1,344 pins and Maycock had 1,239 pins. Maycock had 1,174 pins in the Trio Divison, while Matthews had 1,331 pins. In the Fours Division, Maycock had 1,347 pins and Matthews had 1,341 pins.
