Court: Man Admits Importing Cannabis Resin

A 51-year-old Hamilton Parish man admitted importing more than $120,000 worth of cannabis resin into Bermuda.
Appearing in Magistrates Court, Michael Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of drug importation after customs officers at the L.F. Wade International Airport in a package with his name on it.
The package had arrived as air cargo on a passenger flight. After inspecting the parts inside the box, the customs officers found a plant-like material.
Police then allowed the package to be delivered to Mr Johnson’s residence, and it was found to contain 1,229.7 grams of cannabis resin.
He was remanded into custody, and a social inquiry report was ordered.
