Warwick Win Island Construction Cup Semi-Final
Warwick Workman’s Club Two and Sandys Boat Club Two faced off in the 1st of two Island Construction Cup semi-finals.
Steven Bremar opened the scoring for Warwick when he completed a convincing win over Sandys Tyler Siese 59 – 13.
Sandys captain Chris Bromby levelled the score at 1-1 as he dismissed Warwick’s Mike Zimmerman in a close game which he fought back hard to win 50 – 38.
Ray DeSilva then restored the Warwick lead clinching victory over Sandys Owen Siese in a nail-biting black ball finish, picking up the win 42 – 36.
Bo Bromby levelled the score again for Sandys, when he overcame Warwick’s Zane DeSilva in another harrowing black ball finish winning 56 – 55.
The deciding match saw a rematch for Sandys Owen Siese and Warwick’s Ray DeSilva.
In one of the closest fought matches of recent years, Warwick narrowly avoided what would have been a major upset in a thrilling black ball shoot out, the 3rd of the match, 50 – 45 to deny glory for underdogs, Sandys Boat Club Two.
Warwick Workman’s Club Two will now face the winner of Warwick Workman’s Club One and Sandy’s Boat Club One in the final later in the season.
