Covid-19: Rosedon Hotel To Temporarily Close

March 17, 2020

In an effort to help mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 virus, Rosedon Hotel will temporarily cease hotel operations on Wednesday, March 18 and Huckleberry Restaurant will cease to provide on-site dining and will transition to offering a drive-through/takeout service.

A spokesperson said, “In an effort to help mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 virus and to protect our team members who are our most valuable asset, Rosedon Hotel will close all hotel operations on Wednesday, March 18. With the requirement of a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all arriving passengers as of Tuesday, March 17, 2020, we believe the prudent thing to do is to temporarily cease hotel operations.

“Huckleberry Restaurant at Rosedon Hotel will cease to provide on-site dining as of Wednesday, March 18, 2020, and will transition to offering a drive-through/takeout service called Huckleberry@Home 7 days a week, from 11am – 8pm. Our chefs will continue to prepare the freshest, highest quality food to be enjoyed in the comfort and safety of your home; our new takeout menu is available online at www.Rosedon.com.

“Guests are encouraged to order in advance by calling the restaurant on 478-2256 in order to utilize our drive-through service for pick up. Alternatively, guests can order from their vehicle while parked on site and food will be prepared and brought to their vehicle when it is ready.

“In order to maintain safe ‘social distancing’, all guests will be required to remain in their vehicle or on their cycle while on property. Our team members will be utilizing safe distancing and sanitary procedures consistent with best practices to ensure that we can continue to deliver this service for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The majority of the Rosedon and Huckleberry team are being asked to stay at home for the next 30 days and to practice ‘social distancing’ and safe sanitary practices in order to be ready to return to work as soon as the pandemic passes. Where applicable, they will be working remotely and participating in online training in order to make the most of their time away from property.

“Rosedon Hotel will create a ‘healthy quarantine’ on-site with a number of our hotel and restaurant team who have volunteered to stay on property in a controlled environment. All team members who have volunteered to remain on property will be working to implement our Huckleberry@Home concept as expeditiously and safely as possible.

“In keeping with our commitment to ethical leadership, all staff have been guaranteed their regular wage through March 31, 2020 and are being encouraged to apply for 2 weeks of vacation time for the subsequent period through to April 14 in order to ensure that they do not face financial hardship in the midst of all of the other uncertainty that COVID-19 is causing.

“We realize that this is an extremely stressful time full of uncertainty; however, we believe that with a commitment to teamwork, patience and a little bit of Rosedon and Huckleberry love, we will all get through this tough time together and be stronger than ever on the other side.”

The Rosedon is a popular hotel for typical business visitors that frequent Bermuda for 4 days. It makes perfect sense since the hotel is dead right now due to people not traveling. Hope they take this time to perform some maintenance such as painting on the place.

Kudos to Management and the team.
Turning a huge problem into a community solution is brillant. Hope it brings success today and well into the future.
Wake Up BDA F&B suppliers. This is one of the keys to get through this health emergency together. Delivery service will be the ultimate protocol at this point and time if possible. BDA has always supported BDA F&B outlets, it’s just different now!
