2010 Bacardi Cup: Peter Bromby Moves up to 13th

March 11, 2010

Top Bermudian sailor Peter Bromby has shot up to 13th place in the 2010 Bacardi Cup Race in Miami, following a 2nd place finish on Day 3 of the races.

Mr. Bromby, along with crew Magnus Liledahl, are moving up well; they were in 22nd place after Day 2, and started out in 52nd after Day 1.

Their 13th placing is out of the fleet of 84 Star-class sailboats competing in the Bacardi Cup.  Mr. Bromby and Mr. Liledahl are the defending champions of this race, having won it in 2009.

Yesterday marked the third of six total days of Star Class sailing, with competitors at the halfway point in the competition. The Bacardi Cup will continue at Biscayne Bay, Miami until Saturday, March 13th.

Wind conditions increased slightly later in the afternoon to about a 10 knot high, in a field that was spread out in comparison to the tight group the day prior.
