Industrial Deaths: Bermuda To Remember
The last fatal workplace accident in Bermuda was in 2009, when 39 year old Jonathan Willis was tragically crushed to death after a fan belt of a forklift truck slipped. He, and many others who have lost their lives in industrial accidents, will be remembered tomorrow.
The World Day for Safety and Health and the International Commemoration Day for the Dead and Injured Worker is tomorrow [April 28] and there will be a ceremony on the steps of City Hall at 12:30 p.m. to recognize persons who have died in industrial accidents in Bermuda.
There will be remarks by the Minister of Health, employer and union representatives, prayers by the clergy and a performance by a local school choir.
