Large Turnout: David Burch Term Limit Meeting

April 8, 2010

The much discussed term limits meeting happening at this very moment at the Berkeley Institute appears to have had a massive turnout. The crowd contains a cross section of Bermudians, spanning all ages and races.

The meeting had caused great controversy, first with UBP Senator Michael Dunkley and Colonel David Burch disagreeing over Senator Dunkley’s attendance. Later on, Chairman of the Bermuda Democratic Alliance [BDA] Michael Fahy, who who works in international business, also was excluded from attending. Both gentleman had earlier said they would attempt to attend the meeting  anyway, but late this afternoon both gentlemen decided not to attend.

Parking had to overflow from the Berkeley into the old Berkeley, Northlands and more. When we passed through, at around 5:25pm, traffic was backed up all the way down Berkeley Hill:

We have no real estimate of the amount of people there, as many had entered by time we arrived, and floods of people kept arriving. There were two lines to enter:

We snapped a photo of an attendee wearing one of the “Approved by Minister wristbands:
