Premier Attends Cruise Ship Reception

Premier and Minister of Tourism Dr Ewart Brown attended a reception aboard the MS Veendam this morning [Apr 28] in recognition of the cruise ship’s inaugural visit to Bermuda.

The Veendam can accommodate up to 1,350 passengers and contains many features including a $2 million art and antique collection, spacious staterooms with private verandahs as well as numerous restaurants and facilities.

The MS Veendam, part of the Holland America Line, was scheduled to dock near St Georges yesterday [Apr 27], but due to inclement weather the vessel came into Hamilton Harbour.

The Veendam is scheduled to make 24 calls to Bermuda in 2010, tendering at Murray’s Anchorage on Tuesdays before docking in Hamilton from Wednesdays – Fridays.
