Special Delivery: Baby Born in Car in Hamilton
Around 3:15am yesterday [April 11], a new baby boy made his way into the world… and apparently couldn’t wait to do so.
His mother gave birth to him in a car outside the Bank of Butterfield, at the junction of Front Street and Burnaby Street.
A Police officer was on foot patrol in the City of Hamilton when he was alerted to the woman giving birth in a nearby car. On the Police officer’s arrival mother, new born son and father were found in good health. EMTs attended a short time later and mother & son were taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital via ambulance.
The police said that a subsequent check at the hospital confirmed the good news that both mother and new baby, who has been named Alexander, are doing well.
