Traffic Victim Named As Omar Sutton
The 27 year old man who lost his life on Saturday, May 29th has been named as Omar Sutton.
The Police say that around 2:40am on Saturday, Mr. Sutton was riding a motorcycle traveling west on Middle Road in Paget near the junction with Valley Road (in the vicinity of Paget Shell gas station) when he apparently lost control and collided with a BELCO truck traveling in the opposite direction. Mr. Sutton was rushed to KEMH via ambulance and was pronounced dead at 3:13am Saturday by on call physician at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The truck driver, a 49 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the truck received extensive front end damage.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Sutton, as does Bernews. A Facebook group “RIP Omar aka Iced Out Sutton” was launched on May 29th, click here to visit.
This the sixth road traffic fatality of 2010:

- 26 yr old Carlton Darrell died on April 2nd after a single vehicle accident in Devonshire

- 21 year old heart transplant survivor Earl Ingemann died after a Jan 1st car crash in St. George’s.
