WealthTV To Film Bermuda Feature

May 13, 2010

Bermuda CableVision announced today that as part of its ongoing efforts to promote tourism to Bermuda, it has arranged for a visit to the island by WealthTV Network to film a show focusing on Bermuda.

The trip is being sponsored by Bermuda CableVision and the Bermuda Department of Tourism, and will take place from May 23 – 28, 2010. WealthTV can be seen on CableVision’s Channel 148, and WealthTV HD is on Channel 435.

Bermuda CableVision General Manager Terry Roberson, explains:

In our continuing commitment to supporting the Bermuda Department of Tourism’s efforts to attract more visitors to Bermuda, we are once again pleased to be hosting the cast and crew of a very popular TV show with a large international audience.

This episode of the WealthTV series entitled ‘Take Off with Ashley Colburn’ will ensure that Bermuda’s attractions are seen by an audience of several million people overseas. WealthTV has been a popular network in our line-up for quite some time now, and it has gained even more popularity since we added the high-definition (HD) version of the channel. For local viewers to see their island featured on such a prestigious show is certain to make them proud.

While in Bermuda, the visiting cast and crew, including show host Ashley Colburn, will take part in a variety of activities facilitated by Bermuda CableVision and the Department of Tourism. The group will be staying at Tucker’s Point Hotel and Spa, which will be prominently featured in the show episode. Tucker’s Point is providing accommodations as well as an array of activities, including teaching show host Ashley Colburn how to scuba dive. She will also join the hotel’s award-winning executive chef Serge Bottelli, who will help her prepare fresh fish in the kitchen at the resort’s Le Point Restaurant.

In anticipation of WealthTV’s visit to Bermuda, Ashley Colburn says:

We are delighted to have this opportunity to come to the beautiful island of Bermuda and show our viewers some of the many attractions the destination has to offer. My show has a very broad appeal that allows viewers to experience some of the world’s most beautiful and exciting places while putting them in touch with the local lifestyle.

Dreams are sure to come alive in Bermuda, with its reputation as a world-class travel destination. We’re thankful to Bermuda CableVision and the Bermuda Department of Tourism for the invitation and for facilitating this visit.

Among some of the others adventures planned for the WealthTV visitors: attending the Bermuda Day parade on May 24; enjoying a half-day fishing expedition with Captain Mike Jones; swimming with the dolphins, visiting the Crystal Caves and the Maritime Museum; as well as embarking on a sailing trip with Captain Anthony Mello.

Director of the Bermuda Department of Tourism, William Griffith, said:

We are delighted to have WealthTV come to Bermuda to showcase our beautiful island, our visitors and the people who call the island home.
