Bermudian Killed In Australian Car Crash

June 8, 2010

daniel coylesA 25 year old Bermudian has been killed in a car crash in Australia. The crash occurred on Saturday June 5 morning [Friday June 4 evening local time], with the silver late-model Saab crashing into a tree in Nelly Bay, snapping the tree and dragging the stump for several feet before finally stopping.

Bermudian Daniel Coyles, who was living in Magnetic Island, Queensland, is reported to have died instantly. The three other passengers were airlifted to Townsville Hospital with injuries described as non life threatening.

The Australian press report that early investigations indicate the driver was “speeding, drunk, and missed a turn on the road.” Mr Coyle was not driving the car, which has been severely damaged, photo here and here.

Friends and family of Mr Coyle have set up a Facebook tribute group, RIP Dan Coyle.  Mr Coyles was the son of Debbie and Ian Coyles. Bernews extends our sympathies to Mr Coyle’s parents, family and friends.
