Female Pedestrian Struck By Motorbike

June 16, 2010

In the eighth report since March of an accident involving a pedestrian, at around 9am today (June 16), a lady was struck by a motorcycle right after she got off a bus. The Police say that it appears that the pedestrian, a 32 year old St. George’s woman, had exited a bus and as she attempted to cross the road, a motorcycle traveling east on North Shore Road struck her. She sustained minor injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 49 year old Devonshire man, sustained cuts to his left leg and left arm. He was treated by EMTs at the scene and declined further medical treatment at the hospital. The motorcycle received minor front end damage.

The accident occurred on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Loyal Hill Pass. There has been at least three prior incidents of pedestrians being struck by vehicles on North Shore this year, two of the incidents being fatal.
