Catlin Renews Sponsorship of End to End
Bermuda’s largest charity event has received renewed support from its title sponsor; for 2011 and beyond. For the next three years, Catlin Bermuda has announced it will give substantial funding toward the organization of the Bermuda End-to-End event – known since 2008 as the “Catlin End-to-End.”
“We are delighted to continue our new association with the Island’s largest fundraising event, which now forms the foundation of our charitable activities in Bermuda,” said Graham Pewter, President & CEO of Catlin Bermuda. “To continue our association with this major event that promotes wellness, as well as providing funding to deserving charities, was an easy decision. As a company we hope to play our part in ensuring that the Catlin End-to-End continues to go from strength to strength every year”.
“The addition of Catlin as our Title Sponsor in 2008 was a boon to the quality of our event,” said Anne Mello, chairman of the End-to-End charitable trust, which organises the event. “It has been an honour and a pleasure to work with the Catlin team over the past three years, and we are extremely grateful for their continued support.”
The event will also continue to rely on the support of its other corporate sponsors to organize the event. And the 2,500 or more grass-roots supporters, who collect pledges to walk, row, swim, cycle or otherwise make their way across the island in a one-day blitz each May, will continue to be relied on to raise money for Bermuda charities.
“The Bermuda End-to-End began in 1987 as a wager among three captive insurance employees who walked from one end of the island to another,” said Mrs. Mello. “All our sponsors are crucial to us, and having Catlin’s added support has allowed us to enhance and upgrade our event during extremely difficult economic times for charities.”
Catlin Group Limited, headquartered in Bermuda, is an international specialist property/casualty insurer and reinsurer writing more than 30 classes of business worldwide through six underwriting hubs and an international network of offices.
The Catlin End-to-End event is organized by the Bermuda End-to-End charitable trust, and is supported by numerous local sponsors and more than 2,500 individual participants. The Catlin End-to-End’s mission is to be Bermuda’s premier annual charitable pledge event, committed to promoting the happiness and well-being of our Island community through all-inclusive activities.
