Whales Documentary: Film Festival Finals
The one hour long documentary “Where the Whales Sing” by Andrew Stevenson has been selected as a finalist at the BLUE Ocean Film Festival, a global film festival and conservation summit for underwater filmmakers and marine researchers. The film was selected from over 350 entries in 19 categories submitted by the most talented ocean filmmakers from around the world. All finalist films will be screened during the Festival in California from August 24-29 2010.
Three years ago Bermuda-based producer/director Andrew Stevenson embarked on an interesting and challenging project to film the North Atlantic humback whales underwater in the middle of their mid-ocean migratory crossings, and the film was finished this year. It has been nominated in the “Emerging Underwater Filmmaker” category of the BLUE Film Festival along with “In the Eye of the Whale” by MMCTA, and “In the Wake of Giants” by Akua Films.
