Man Shot in the Buttocks
[Updated] While the rest of the island is preparing for Hurricane Igor’s arrival, it appears that at least one person in the criminal fraternity was not, as we can now confirm there was a shooting. Bernews unofficially understands that the bullet hit the victim in the buttocks, and his injuries are not life threatening.
The Police have stated there was “a confirmed firearm incident in Paget” and said they will provide further information later on today. We will update as able.
Update 10:55am: Official update from Police says incident occurred at 3:40am this morning [Sept 17] in the Dudley Hill, Paget area, and the victim is a 31 year old man. Full statement below:
Around 3:40am on Friday, Police responded to a confirmed firearm incident in the Dudley Hill, Paget area. A 31 year old man was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
His injury is not believed to be life threatening. An active investigation into this matter is underway.
