Road Works To Cause Traffic Disruptions

The City of Hamilton today (Sept 29) announced that starting tomorrow evening there will be traffic disruptions due to crane activity. Their full statement follows below:

The City of Hamilton today announced that starting on Thursday September 30, 2010 at 7:00pm on Reid Street, at Seon Place, there will be traffic disruptions due to crane activity. Spurling’s Hill will be closed to traffic traveling into Hamilton along East Broadway.

Motorists traveling on Reid Street to Middle Road, from Middle Road to Reid Street and out of Hamilton along Spurling’s Hill will not be affected. Flagmen will be in place to help with traffic flow.

Starting on Friday October 1, at 6:30pm through to Saturday morning, Church Street, opposite City Hall, will be reduced to one lane of traffic to accommodate the use of a crane at the Washington Mall.

Additionally, a cycle race has been scheduled for Sunday, October 3, between 7:00am and 12:00noon. The route will take racers along Front Street, Burnaby Hill, Reid Street, Queen Street, Church Street and Par-la-Ville Road.

The City of Hamilton apologizes for any inconvenience caused and urges all motorists to use extreme caution during these traffic disruptions.
