15th Named Storm Of The Season: Otto
Although currently still sub-tropical, as opposed to tropical, the fifteenth storm of the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season formed yesterday. As of this morning [Oct 7] Sub Tropical Storm Otto is 635 miles south south-west of Bermuda, according to the US National Hurricane Center. The NHC says that Otto could become a hurricane within 48 hours.
Otto is expected to head northeastward into the open Atlantic in the coming days, so at this time it is not expected to pose a direct threat to Bermuda, or any other land mass.
