Photo Report: Weekend Sports Roundup

This past weekend saw a number of sporting events in Bermuda including cricket, cross country, cycling, equestrian, hockey, motorcross, and road running.

In cycling, Sarah Bonnet won the IBC National Criterium BirdCage Track Women’s Open Division race, with Earlena Ingham finishing 2nd, Darren Glasford won the Open Male Division race finishing ahead of Mark Lombardi.

The Bermuda Equestrian Federation held a Back to School event at the national Equestrian Center on Vesey Street. Jennifer Howard riding Escudero won the Hunter Horse Over Fences 2’6″, Open Class with Sonia Ringer and Landtango finishing second. Jahdayna Samuels and Dream Catcher won the Hunter Pony Over Fences 2’6″ Class, with Madison Golinski and Cloudy Hill finishing second.

At the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing event Tamia Place won all three races in the Mini Bike Class, Shae Darrell won all three races in GP 70 Class races, with Jazari Caisey winning all three races in the GP 80 Class. Kenneth Desilva won two of the races in Scooter Class, while Jeneko Place won the other. Bruce Degrilla won two races in the GP 125 Class and Andrew Decosta won the other. Tony Grant won two races in the Formula Class, while Tim Marks won the other and Keanu Wilson won two races in the Superbike Class, with Bryce Place won the other.

The BTFA’s Cross Country Series was held at Astwood Park. In the Girls Under 10 race that was approximately 2 miles, Messiah Greaves completed the course in 13:55 to take first place, while Rahzier Jones won the Boy’s race clocking 12:32.

Jennifer Alen won the PartnerRe Women’s 5K Run clocking a time of 19:32, while Victoria Fiddick finished second in 19:54. Joanna Shillington completed the course in a time of 21:15 to finish third. Quaashie Douglas won the PartnerRe Women’s 2K Run, with a time of 6:51, and in a time of 35:01, Davina Dickinson won the PartnerRe Women’s 5K Walk.
