Rosewood to Operate Tucker’s Point Hotel
Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa has entered into a Letter of Intent for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to become the property’s operator. Once the agreement is finalized, the hotel will be branded Rosewood Tucker’s Point.
“Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa has been a vital addition to Bermuda’s tourism economy and has raised the bar for hospitality facilities and services here,” Premier Dr Brown said. “The decision to retain Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to manage the hotel will ensure its continued operation at a high luxury standard.”
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to add Tucker’s Point to the Rosewood collection,” said John Scott, president and CEO, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “Rosewood Tucker’s Point will be joining a very prestigious group of Rosewood properties including The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York City, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, and Rosewood Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda.
“Rosewood’s international marketing reach and position as a global luxury hotel group will benefit Bermuda,” Scott added, “by reinforcing Bermuda’s image as a quality tourism destination that offers the highest levels of service, excellent accommodations, and a wide range of amenities and attractions.”
Ed Trippe, president of Tucker’s Point, reinforced the comments of Premier Brown and John Scott: “The timing is right. Tucker’s Point — including the hotel, spa, two fractional ownership clubs and the Tucker’s Point Golf, Beach & Tennis Club — has evolved into a highly complex operation. It is both timely and appropriate that we bring in a world recognized operating company,” Trippe said. “Rosewood will bring opportunities for career growth for employees, as well as training and management development programs.”
And while Rosewood will be adding oversight, management and marketing services, the day-to-day operation of the hotel will not appreciably change. Brian Young, Tucker’s Point’s executive vice president operations, will take the title of Managing Director.
Mr. Young previously held managing director positions with Rosewood at Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and in 2003 was corporate Vice President of Operations for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in Dallas, Texas.
Established in 1979, the Rosewood collection encompasses 17 hotels and resorts in six countries.
