Thief Snatches Handbag at Bus Stop

A 60-year-old woman had her handbag snatched last night while waiting at a bus stop.

At around 11:45pm last night [Oct 11] the victim was at a bus stop outside the Heron Bay Marketplace in Southampton when she was accosted by a man who took her bag, containing cash and personal items, and ran away heading east on Middle Road. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as:

  • Medium to dark skinned man
  • Approximately 5’4” tall
  • Slim build
  • Believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s.
  • Wearing a black helmet, dark coloured shirt with metallic writing on the front
  • He may have also been wearing long green pants

The Police state that inquiries into this incident are underway, and they are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

    This is getting ridiculous people are going to start taking matters into their own hands. No one feels safe anymore, it will only get worse before it gets better. Thank goodness she wasn’t hurt. Pray for this island because things are just going down hill…..
