KatKids Christmas Market: Nov 19
The Kathmandu Kids Club officially will be staging their annual KatKids Christmas Market on Friday, November 19th from 5.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Club, always keen to try new venues, are excited with their latest choice – the Mount Saint Agnes School Auditorium. The festive evening is organised by the Kathmandu Kids Club, a community fundraising group of dedicated volunteers who raise much needed funds for The ISIS Foundation.
The organizers say the Christmas Market will be an ideal way to make a start on your Christmas shopping, while all proceeds from the evening will go directly and undiluted to The ISIS Foundation projects, helping children in serious need in both Nepal and Uganda.
KatKids Event Manager, Nicola Jones, said “The Christmas Market will have plenty of stalls filled with arts, crafts and jewelry from Nepal and Uganda. So for all the shopaholics out there, guilt free shopping awaits, as it’s all for a very worthwhile cause! We invite guests to come and browse through our stands filled with beautiful beaded jewelry, hand crafted clothing and alluring art work all from Nepal and Uganda.”
Top comedian Nadanja Bailey will host the live and silent auction, which will feature a number of unique items. There will also be plenty of live musical entertainment on the night, provided by the Bermuda School of Music, Bermuda Donquili and The Knock-Ons, who are set to rock the night out with guest’s favorite tunes.
“For all that’s on offer, the $10 cover charge makes this night an absolute must attend” explained Nicola Jones, “Come and let the aroma and flavour of traditional Nepalese food inflame your senses and enjoy happy hour drinks all night.”
Sharon Beesley, Co-Founder of The ISIS Foundation and President of the Kathmandu Kids Club, said “that although the Club will raise funds from the Christmas Market for the Foundation’s projects, we very much hope to also raise awareness in Bermuda of the Nepalese and Ugandan communities with whom the ISIS Foundation is privileged to work with.
“We really want people to come and understand the work that a Bermuda charity is involved in Nepal and Uganda,” she said “for instance, ISIS has been able to make a substantive difference to the lives of thousands of people in Nepal and Uganda and this is in no small part due to the kindness and generosity of Bermudians. The Kathmandu Kids Club has tirelessly fundraised for The ISIS Foundation for almost five years now and we are hugely grateful for the support they have given us. It’s quite extraordinary and we are hoping that people will come to the event and want to become part of this amazing sponsorship of two communities by our one community.”
Tickets can be bought online in advance on www.premiertickets.bm, while there will also be tickets on the door from 5.30 p.m. on the 19th for cash only. However, the organizers strongly recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid disappointment, as tickets are limited this year and KatKids events have sold out in the past.
