First & Premier: Sunday Football Results
Yesterday [Jan 9] a number of football games took place across the island, with MR Onions, Young Men Social Club, Somerset Trojans, Robin Hood, and X’Road’s all winning their First Division matches. In the Premier Division Boulevard Blazers, St. George’s Colts, Dandy Town Hornets, and North Village Rams were all victorious. The big scorer of the day was Robert Rawlins, who scored a hat-trick at Malabar to lead Young Men Social Club to a 5 – 0 win over Ireland Rangers.
First Division
MR Onion’s 3 Hamilton Parish 2
- At the BAA Field, Kevin Ronaldson gave MR Onion’s the lead in the 20th minute, Devonne Simmons equalized for Hamilton Parish in the 27th minute. One minute into the second half Ryan Richardson gave Hamilton Parish the lead, but Simon Gregory equalized for MR Onion’s in the 65th minute. Ten minutes later Ronaldson scored his second and the MR Onion’s winner.
Ireland Rangers 0 Young Men Social Club 5
- Robert Rawlins scored a hat-trick at Malabar to lead Young Men Social Club to a 5 – 0 win over Ireland Rangers. Jamel Smith and Shae Butterfield added a goal each.
Somerset Trojans 1 Wolves 0
- A first half strike from Jahi Simmons gave home team Somerset Trojans a 1 – 0 win over Wolves at the Somerset Cricket Club.
BAA 0 Robin Hood 2
- Rahki Paul gave Robin Hood the lead in the 43rd minute over BAA, Drewonde Bascome, doubled the lead in the 61st minute to earn them a 2 – 0 win.
X’Road’s 5 Paget Lions 0
- At the Garrison Field, Rico Beek and Dennis Musson Jr both scored twice for X’Road’s as they defeated the Paget Lions 5 – 0, Thaaqib Talbot added the other.
Premier Division
Devonshire Colts 0 Boulevard Blazers 3
- At Police Field, Temiko Wilson gave visiting Boulevard Blazers the lead in the first half over the Devonshire Colts with a right footed shot, Takeyhi Walker doubled the lead just before the break. Reiko Trott made it 3 – 0 midway through the second half.
PHC Zebras 1 St. George’s Colts 3
- At the Southampton Oval, Quinton Burgess gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 3rd minute, but Clay Darrell equalized for the St. George’s Colts in the 46th minute. Jahron Dickinson then gave the St. George’s Colts the lead in the 65th minute and when Wolde Jones scored for St. George’s in the 80th minute it ended the game as a contest.
St. David’s 1 Dandy Town Hornets 2
- At Lord’s in St. David’s, Raymond Beach scored twice for visiting Dandy Town Hornets as they defeated St. David’s 2 – 1, Otis Minors scored the lone goal for the home team.
North Village Rams 3 Somerset Eagles 0
- At the Bernard Park, Keishen Bean, Jason Lee and Ralph Bean Jr scored a goal each for the North Village Rams as they defeated the Somerset Eagles 3 – 0.
