Motorcyclist Arrested After Crashing Into Pole

Yesterday [Jan 9], a 53 year old man riding a motocycle smashed into a utility pole, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment, and was then subsequently arrested by the Police on suspicion of impaired driving.

A Police spokesman said “Around 4pm on Sunday, Police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Southside Road in St. George’s near the junction with Tommy Fox Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Southside Road when the rider, a 53 year old St. George’s man, lost control and collided with a utility pole.”

“The St. George’s man sustained a leg injury and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”

    Perhaps article should be re-named: “Utility Pole Arrested After Crashing Into Motorcyclist”.

    Flamin utility poles wandering around the Island whilst under the influence. There aughta be a law!
