bermuda incinerator tynes bayFree collection of bulky waste by the Waste Management Section of the Ministry of Public works has been suspended until maintenance on the bulky waste shear at Tynes Bay Waste-to-Energy Facility has been completed on 14th February, 2011.

A spokesperson said: “Truckers are reminded that bulky commercial waste such as furniture, lumber and pallets will not be accepted at Tynes Bay from 27th January to February 14th February, 2011. The public drop-off will continue to accept residential bulky waste during this time; however, residents are encouraged to bring as little as possible to the drop-off.”

“We wish to remind the public not to place bulky waste outside for collection until their scheduled pick-up day. Piles of bulky waste leave our roadsides and neighbourhoods looking untidy and can encourage illegal dumping, rodents and mosquitoes. The scheduling of bulky waste collection will resume on 14th February, 2011.”

To schedule a bulky waste collection, please call 292-1517 or 292-7454.
