  1. Room says:

Are we gonna start running out of room at Westgate soon?

    • the same says:

I was kind of thinking the same..he may have been a threat…but when did we start jailing poeple..and for 5 years…for maybe’s!?

    • Bottom Line says:

I just had an idea on what do with that bankrupt Newstead development.

  2. Terry says:

No way bruddah…all doze ampty rooms in arryones apartments and Newstaid……

    The Isles of Devils…ring a bell…………………

The only people that suffer most are the ones that made it. Someone put out that match please.

  3. Question says:

    What does the “E” mean??

    • Bill Akin says:

Not an “E” but a target. The long segments mark the boundary of the “safe” target area. The end of the short segment marks the ideal strike point for the bullet. The idea is to aid a marksman to incapacitate a person while doing the least damage and without lethal results.

  4. Ian says:

Wtf. 5 years for sending a text message? What the hell is wrong with this island. Unless there is more to the story that wasn’t published… but holy sh**.. this island is pathetic.

    • Tired of nonsense says:

Pretty sure he got time for also sticking a knife to her throat in Hamilton Marketplace parking lot…

    • YouAnkSerious says:

I know you are not serious…. Do you not know how much women have been murdered due to domestic violence, that could have been prevented if only their threats made by the boyfriends were taken as serious as this?.. smh i tell you, and if nothing would have been done and the young ladys life would have been taken by this “man”.. you would be the first to say the threat should have been taken more serious!!

  5. Wild and Out says:

This might be coming from left field……………….but he may have actually followed through with this his threat and then what? You cannot go around abusing people mentally by threatening their lives. This has been left unchecked for a long time now and I am pleased that finally an example is made. So for anyone else out there that intends to terrorize another person, think twice or wear orange.

On the flip side, it is sad as he looks young but in saying that of age to know right from wrong, so this would be the consquence to his choices. Some listen and some have to feel to know what is right and what is wrong.

  6. Bluddy Wankers says:

I really dont care if they do, put 5 to a room. Better yet, bring back Casemates let them feel Jail, REAL JAIL!!!!. Spoiled Buggers, I know a hundred different things they can do with taxpayers money then take care of these rats.

  7. Allan G says:

Yes! Westgate houses about 200 inmates, the Farm about 90 and Co-ed is in the mid 50s. Bermuda correctional facilities run at almost 80% capacity. With the increase in violence we will soon be filled. We need to figure out a way to make prisoners rehabilitated and more useful to society when they are released so they do not go back to prison. BUT more imporatantly is how can Bermuda keep folks from going to prison.

  8. Jack herer says:

To many people seem to be happy that people (men) are going to jail. Who will raise
There kids?; help me to understand how jail is good. I think these kids will grow up an
Be worst, because of the lack of fathers.

    • Uncle Ruckus says:

Too bad. He’s a menace and needs to be in jail threatening a womans life and putting a knife to her neck. I’m sure it’s best that his kids if he has any, don’t see that at all. It’s like a wife staying with an abusive husband “for the kids”, it’s not always what’s best.

  9. B. Samson says:

    Ian, joke post?

What this guy did can be considered and labeled a terroristic threat under the law. It was way more than just a simple text message. Good to know an example has been made on this scrub.

  10. nonsense says:

something clearly wrong with all these people! he threatened the girl! what do you want us to do wait until he actually kills her and then do something. he had friggin intent so good!

if it was your family it’d be a different story. that’s what wrong with people nowadays.
